There’s little more painful than seeing a child suffer, and a child with cancer is one of life’s greatest tragedies. That’s why Mark Rivkin is proud to support the ongoing efforts of Camp Oochigeas, who are dedicated to enriching the lives of children and families affected by this horrible disease.
Camp Oochigeas is a privately funded, volunteer based organization that provides kids with cancer and kids affected by childhood cancer with a unique opportunity for growth through fun, enriching and magical experiences. Camp Oochigeas is more than a summer camp, and they offer year-round programs for children at their site in Muskoka, at SickKids Hospital, at the Ooch Downtown facility in Toronto and throughout the community. The children that attend are as unique as their own personal experiences; some are young children, others teenagers. Some have experienced cancer personally while others have gone through the experience with a sibling. Because cancer affects such a wide range of individuals, Camp Oochigeas offers a wide range of programs for children ages 4-19. Through these programs Camp Oochigeas provides fun and meaningful experiences to nearly a thousand children affected by cancer each year at no cost to the families. This is all made possible by the generous support of donors and volunteers.
In addition to supporting Camp Oochigeas directly, Mark Rivkin strives to spread the word about the tremendous efforts of these great people. Visit the camp’s website at ooch.org to learn how you can show your support, or find Camp Oochigeas on Facebook for social updates.
