The Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem

The Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem, Israel serves local residents and is committed to the provision of top-level medical care through a highly compassionate and personalized approach. The Rivkins hold a strong connection to Israel and their global effort for good, and Andrew actually personally showed his family’s support with a visit to the hospital near the end of 2012. Shaare Zedek is the city’s only major, centrally located hospital and for more than a hundred years, the Medical Center in Jerusalem has been known as a “Hospital with a Heart.”

The Canadian Shaare Zedek Hospital Foundation allows supporters, such as Andrew and Mark Rivkin, to connect to a meaningful cause in Israel and the good work that is being done in the hospital. The Canadian chapter allows supporters to connect to the ideologies that the medical centre represents: compassion for all human life, no matter the race, religion or political views. The Canadian Shaare Zedek Hospital Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that works in partnership with similar offices around the world to help raise funds. Andrew and Mark Rivkin support the foundation’s major Gala events, Golf Day and Ski Day.

Since the early 70’s, The Canadian Shaare Zedek Hospital Foundation has raised charitable funds on behalf of the Medical Center in Jerusalem. Founded unofficially in the late 60’s by the Chairman of the Toronto, Ontario Friends of Shaare Zedek, Wolf Szydlow, the Foundation began its efforts. What started as an effort to raise $2 million for the construction of a Toronto, Ontario Pavilion in the new Medical Center soon grew into a national organization with offices in Montreal, Winnipeg and Toronto.

The Rivkins strongly support such a meaningful cause for local as well as global improvement.
